Rayo extends streak with comeback

YUKON, Okla. - Michel scored two goals and Bill Forbes added another as Rayo OKC defeated Ottawa Fury FC 3-1 Sunday at Miller Stadium Sunday.

Rayo (7-5-8, 29 pts Fall/10-9-11, 41 pts overall) extends their unbeaten streak to eight games and moves into a tie with the Minnesota for the fourth and final postseason position.

Ottawa (5-9-6, 21 pts Fall/7-14-9, 30 pts overall) opened the scoring in the 28th minute when the red hot Giuseppe Gentile headed home a perfectly placed cross from Carl Haworth sending Fury FC in front on his fifth goal of the season.

Eight minutes later Rayo pulled level after a defensive mishap inside Ottawa's 18-yard box saw Futty Danso find Michel who side-footed it into an open goal to tie the match on his 13th goal of the season.

In the 61st minute, Yuma spotted a streaking Forbes and send a long ball over the Ottawa defense springing Forbes on a breakaway. The veteran made no mistake beating Romauld Peiser for his third goal of the season to put OKC ahead.

In the 84th minute, Michel ensured that Rayo would claim all three points when he finished the pass from Forbes for his second of the match sending OKC to victory with a 3-1 score and into a tie with Minnesota as the hunt for the fourth and final NASL postseason position heats up further heading into the final two weeks of the season.
