June 12, 2016 NEW YORK DRAW Boston City FC extends streak
PELHAM, N.Y. -- Boston City FC extended its unbeaten streak to three games with a 0-0 draw with New York Athletic Club Sunday night.
BCFC (4-3-2, 14 points), which had won its two previous games in New York against the Kingston Stockade and the New York Cosmos B, remained in second place in the NPSL’s Northeast Atlantic Division. The Lions outshot NYAC, 16-9, and had a 4-0 shots-on-goal edge.
In stoppage time, BCFC had a chance to win, substitute Yaw Addow’s header off a Valerio Silva corner knocked away by Marco Luna. Addow entered in the 68th minute, sparking the team with a cross to Homero Morais, whose acrobatic lob went just high. Morais sent a 20-yarder high in the 77th minute and Batista shot over the goal off a Gabriel De Souza attempt in the 84th minute.
NYAC came close on first-half shots by Richard Marquetty, Jevaughn Vance and Daniel Alvarado. BCFC’s best first-half chance was a dipping attempt by Guilherme Desousa that went over the bar in the 44th minute.
