Thorns come back to remain unbeaten

ORLANDO-- Portland Thorns FC rallied in the final 10 minutes with a pair of goals from midfielders Dagny Brynjarsdottir and Lindsey Horan to remain unbeaten through their first 11 games this season, earning a 2-1 win against the Orlando Pride in front of 7,143 fans Sunday evening at Camping World Stadium.

The Pride (5-6-0, 15 points) took the lead as Jasmyne Spencer blasted in her second goal in as many games, beating Michelle Betos from about 25 yards in the 67th minute. Steph Catley set up Orlando’s goal, finding Alex Morgan making a run behind the defense. Betos off her line, punching away from Morgan, Spencer firing into the top right corner.

The NWSL-leading Thorns (6-0-5, 23 points) responded with a goal from Dagný Brynjarsdóttir. In the 80th minute, Emily Sonnett sent a long ball to Christine Sinclair, who chipped a header to the on-rushing Brynjarsdóttir, who beat Laura Alleway and sent a shot past Ashlyn Harris from the top of the penalty area.

Sinclair was involved in the game-winner, finding second-half substitute Hayley Raso on a run to the far post. Raso sent a quick pass back to the middle, finding Horan open for a left-footed touch past Harris.
