Chivas and Monterrey complete suspended match

Monterrey 1, Chivas 0
Dorlan Pabon scored in the 59th minute to lift Monterrey over Chivas de Guadalajara 1-0 Saturday in the completion of a September 12 match suspended in 12th minute due to severe weather and unplayable field conditions at Estadio Omnilife.

The win clinched a playoff berth for the Rayados (8-3-5, 27 pts).

Pabon, who was denied by the crossbar early in the second half, delivered the win to Monterrey with a perfectly-placed shot from outside of the penalty area into the lower right corner.

The loss drops Chivas to 2-7-7 and 13 points, well out of postseason contention at 17th place.

Carlos Gerardo Rodriguez had The Herd's best chance of the game, a bicycle kick off the bar shortly before Pabon's goal.
