Puebla (3-2-2, 11 pts) rallied for a 2-1 win over Morelia Friday at Estadio Morelos.

Christian Valdez gave Monarcas (0-3-4, 3) a 1-0 lead in the 11th minute. Defender Facundo Erpen equalized for La Franja by rolling a shot inside the post in the 37th, and Matias Alustiza netted the game-winner from just outside the penalty area in the 51st.

Veracruz 3, Toluca 0
Veracruz roared past Toluca 3-0 Friday at Estadio Luis Pirata Fuentes.

After a scoreless first half, Leiton Jimenez broke the ice for the fourth-place Tiburones (3-4-0, 13 pts) with a flashy scissor-kick goal in the 51st minute. Julian Furch, whose throw-in set the table for Jimenez, made the score 2-0 in the 68th off the rebound when netminder Alfredo Talavera blocked a shot by Edgar Andrade. Fernando Meneses capped the win from the penalty spot with ten minutes left on the clock.

The loss leaves Toluca in 11th place at 2-3-2 and nine points.

Atlas 1, Santos Laguna 0
Arturo Gonzalez scored in the 86th minute as Atlas (4-1-2, 13 pts) snatched a 1-0 win over Santos Laguna Friday at Estadio TSM Corona.

Gonzalez brought the ball into the area alone and won the game with a long-range blast.

The Guerreros fall to 3-1-3 (10).

Chivas 2, Cruz Azul 1
Chivas came up with two goals in the final ten minutes to slip past Cruz Azul 2-1 Saturday at Estadio Azul.

La Maquina dominated the first half, and took a 1-0 lead on a 32nd-minute goal by Gerardo Flores. Flores also came up with a goal line save to prevent a 48th-minute equalizer by Giovanni Hernandes, but Aldo de Nigris came off the bench to level the score with a header in the 80th minute. Marco Fabian delivered the win three minutes later, with a free kick from just outside the penalty area.

The Herd close out the week in sixth place at 3-2-2 and 11 points. Cruz Azul are third on the table at 4-2-1 (14).

Monterrey 2, Queretaro 1
Edwin Cardona scored in the 89th minute to lift Monterrey (2-1-4, 7 pts) over Queretaro 2-1 Saturday at Estadio Tecnologico.

The match was scoreless until the 63rd minute, when Pablo Barrera put the Gallos Blancos (1-2-4, 5) on the board. Orbelin Pineda beat netminder Jonathan Orozco to the left side to level the score two minutes later, and Cardona slammed home the winner from outside the arc.

Pachuca 2, Leon 1
An own goal by Leon defender Nacho Gonzalez helped Pachuca to a 2-1 win Saturday at Estadio Hidalgo.

The Tuzos (3-1-3, 10 pts) led 1-0 on a 53rd-minute top of the box shot by Erick Gutierrez. Gonzalez's misplay doubled Pachuca's lead, providing enough of a margin to preserve the win despite a 65th-minute penalty kick, awarded for a handball by Miguel Herrera and converted by Martin Bravo.

The Esmeraldas fall to 2-2-3 and eight points.

Chiapas 1, Tigres 0
Matias Vuoso scored in the 24th minute, and Chiapas held on for a 1-0 win over Tigres Saturday at Estadio Victor Manuel Reyna.

Vuoso scored off his own rebound, after the initial shot caromed back off the left post. Rafael Sobis had two solid chances to level the score, but missed high on his first attempt and wide right on the second.

Chiapas move into eighth place at 3-2-2 (11 pts). Tigres fall to 3-0-4 and nine points, and are 12th on the table.

America 1, Pumas 0
Second-place Club America (4-2-1, 14 pts) edged Pumas 1-0 Sunday at Estadio Olimpico Universitario.

Dario Benedetto turned a loose ball into the game's only goal in the 52nd minute. Pumas' best chance came before the intermission, when netminder Moises Munoz turned away a dangerous shot by UNAM's Eduardo Herrera.

UNAM is in 16th place at 1-2-4 (5).

Tijuana 1, Leones Negros 0
Gabriel Hauche's 11th-minute goal was all table-topping Tijuana (5-1-1, 16 pts) needed to defeat Leones Negros 1-0 Sunday at Estadio Jalisco.

Hauche scored off a rebound, and Xolos goalkeeper Cirilo Saucedo made eight saves to preserve the win.

The loss leaves U de G at 1-1-5 and four points.

Hauche sealed the win with a 19-yard blast.
