Liguilla semifinals -- first leg roundup

#7 Pachuca 2, #6 Queretaro 0
Pachuca seized the advantage in their Liguilla semifinal series against Queretaro with a 2-0 home win Thursday night at Estadio Hidalgo.

German Cano netted the game-winner just nine minutes into the match. Rodrigo Salinas, whose pass back from the end line set the table for Cano's tap-in, headed in an insurance goal in the 39th. Two minutes later defender Ricardo Osorio was red-carded, leaving the Gallos Blancos shorthanded for the rest of the match.

The series concludes Sunday at Estadio La Corregidora.

#8 Santos Laguna 0, #5 Chivas 0
Santos Laguna and Chivas opened their Liguilla semifinal series with a scoreless draw Thursday at Estadio TSM Corona.

Goalkeeper Luis Michel kept things even as the Herd were outshot 21-9, stopping all nine of the Guerreros' shots on goal, including late chances by Javier Orozco and Djaniny.

The winner-take-all second leg will be Sunday at Estadio Omnilife.
