Hot streak takes Breakers to brink of WPS playoffs

It’s amazing how a single win can turn around an entire season. On July 4, when the Boston Breakers went into Philadelphia, they were 1-5-4, mired in a slump. Since then, they have been one of the league’s hottest teams and are on the verge of clinching a playoff berth, and quite possible overtaking the Independence for second place in the WPS.

In addition, outgoing Breakers’ General Manager Joe Cummings was was honored for his contributions to WPS on-stage with a special WPS All-Star Game jersey in his name. Cummings takes over as Executive Director of the National Soccer Coaches Association of Amerca in September.
