Breakers' Dowie, Simon Australia-bound

The Boston Breakers have loaned forward Natasha Dowie to the Melbourne Victory and forward Kyah Simon to Sydney FC of Australia’s W-League, exercising options for both to return next season, the team announced Tuesday.

Simon, 25, who played for Sydney from the 2009-10 through 2012-13 seasons and the 2015-16 season, scored one goal in 17 apperances for the Breakers and also scored a goal for Australia in the Olympic Games.

Dowie, 28, led the Breakers in scoring with three goals in seven games, scoring 10 minutes into her debut in a 1-0 win over the Orlando Pride July 31. Dowie scored three goals in seven games for the Victory last season.
