BACK TO THE BREAKERS
Midfielder Stephanie Verdoia signs
The Boston Breakers have re-signed midfielder Stephanie Verdoia, the team announced Monday.
Verdoia, 23, had career highs for games with 10 (five starts) and minutes with 453. Verdoia has played 18 games (six starts) in two seasons.
“I'm delighted Steph has re-signed for the club,” Breakers coach Matt Beard said. “As last season went on, she grew in confidence. I'm looking forward to seeing a confident Steph Verdoia from the word ‘go’ in 2017.”
Verdoia, a Salt Lake City native who played at Seattle University, was selected by the Breakers in the fourth round of the 2015 NWSL College Draft, making her debut and first start in a 3-2 home win over the Houston Dash April 26, 2015.
Verdoia was a member of the U.S. U-23 national team at the 2015 Six Nations Tournament in La Manga, Spain, playing in two matches and tallying an assist in a 2-0 win over Norway Feb. 28, 2015.
