Mutiny signs eight for inaugural UWS season

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- The New England Mutiny announced eight signings Thursday, including UConn Husky teammates Liana Hinds and Andrea Plucenik, in preparation for the inaugural United Women's Soccer (UWS) season.

The Mutiny, which will compete in the six-team UWS East, signed midfielder Charlie Branch, defender Meghan Cunningham, midfielder Stephanie Santos, defenders Allyson and Chantelle Swaby, defender Claire Walsh, plus Hinds,a Trinidad and Tobago international forward/defender, and Plucenik, a forward/midfielder.

"This group of signings highlights our midfield and defense for our first season in UWS," Mutiny owner Joe Ferrara, Jr. said. "Itís going to be a battle each game and we think this group can help form a strong foundation for our team."
