Mutiny announces return of Howarth, Ugolik
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- The New England Mutiny announced the return of forward duo of Kate Howarth and Rachel Ugolik for the United Women’s Soccer season Thursday.
"It's great to have Kate and Rachel returning to play for the Mutiny again this season," Mutiny owner Joe Ferrara, Jr. said. "Individually, they are both very dynamic and with this year being their third consecutive season playing together, we are looking for that continuity to pay dividends in coach (Joe) Abele's system."
Howarth captained the team and led the team in scoring (seven goals) as the Mutiny won the Power 5 Division title with a 8-2 record. Howarth has totaled 23 goals and eight assists in three seasons with the Mutiny history, joining the team during the 2012 WPSL Elite season. Howarth, who played at the University of Miami, played for the Boston Breakers of NWSL in 2013.
“We are all looking forward to this league,” Howarth said. “Higher standards and better competition is always the goal and I think this league will provide that for both college kids and players trying to make it to the next level. Looking forward to competing and winning!”
“I’m very excited to be back with this team and even more excited about the new league!,” said Ugolik, who played for Providence College.
