Kobayashi will stay with Revolution

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Japanese midfielder Daigo Kobayashi has re-signed with the New England Revolution, the team announced Thursday.

Kobayashi, 33, opted out of the Re-Entry Process and is eligible for selection in Stage Two of the draft.

Kobayashi made 27 appearances (six starts) and scored one goal last season. Kobayashi, who played for the Vancouver Whitecaps for two seasons, has totaled six assists in three seasons with the Revolution and has a totaled of 112 MLS appearances and three goals.

Kobayashi, a native of Fuji, Japan, played in the J-League, Greece and Norway and has earned one cap for the Japanese national team.
