Revolution's Angking with U.S. U-17 team

New England Revolution Academy midfielder Isaac Angking has been called in to the U.S. U-17 national team for the Spring Semester of the U.S. Soccer Residency Program in Bradenton, Fla., the team announced Wednesday.

Angking is among 32 players named to the program, and among 28 returning from the 2016 Fall Semester. The U-17 team is preparing for the CONCACAF U-17 World Cup qualifying tournament in Panama April 14-May 8.

Angking, from Providence, R.I., has made 70 appearances (17 goals, 16 assists) in four seasons with the Academy. Angking played in friendlies against Costa Rica, plus an international camp in Jamaica and the 13th annual Nike International Friendlies, the U.S. U-17s capturing the title for the first time since 2013.

Angking spent time in Bradenton for a U-15 national team camp in November 2015. Angking has also been selected for the Generation adidas ESP event in August, where he played and trained with other MLS Academy players and Bayern Munich’s Academy. He was called in for a U.S. U-15 camp in Bradenton in December 2014 and a U.S. U-14 National camp in Carson, Calif., in August 2014.
