Corey Ashe added to U.S. roster for Belgium
CHICAGO---U.S. Men's National Team head coach Jurgen Klinsmann on Thursday announced the addition of Houston Dynamo left back Corey Ashe to the training camp roster eligible to play in the game against Belgium at FirstEnergy Stadium in Cleveland on May 29.
Ashe will return to Houston in time for the June 1 match in against the Columbus Crew in Columbus. He is the third Dynamo player to be included on the roster, joining midfielder Brad Davis and goalkeeper Tally Hall.
This is the first call-up to the full Men's National Team for Ashe. The product of the Under-17 Residency Program co-captained the team to a fifth-place finish at the 2003 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Finland.
The U.S. has two friendlies against Belgium and Germany before jumping back into World Cup Qualifying against Jamaica (June 4), Panama (June 11) and Honduras (June 18). The team has a 23-game unbeaten streak at home in World Cup qualifying, and sits second in the table with four points, one point behind leaders Panama.
