Parkhurst in, Evans out for USMNT

CHICAGO Michael Parkhurst has been added to the U.S. Men's National Team training camp roster in place of Brad Evans, who suffered a calf strain in the 1-0 win for Seattle against Columbus on Saturday night.

Parkhurst started in five of six matches in the USA's run to the 2013 CONCACAF Gold Cup championship, including the final. He will travel Monday in Miami, where the team has gathered in preparation for the upcoming World Cup Qualifiers against Costa Rica and Mexico.

The U.S. next sees action on Sept. 6 against Costa Rica in San Jose, where it will seek its first ever away win in qualifying against the Ticos (10 p.m. ET, beIN SPORT and ESPN Deportes Radio). They then host Mexico in Columbus on September 10.
