CLEARED TO WORK OUT
Altidore's MRI is normal, U.S. Soccer says
CHICAGO - U.S. Men's National Team striker Jozy Altidore has been cleared to resume workouts after a full evaluation from the medical staff. An MRI evaluation of his right hamstring was normal.
Altidore did not play for his club team Sunderland over the weekend.
U.S. head coach Jurgen Klinsmann is optimistic Altidore will be available for selection when the U.S. faces Costa Rica on Sept. 6 in San Jose, where it will seek its first away win in qualifying against the Ticos (10 p.m. ET, beIN SPORT and ESPN Deportes Radio).
