USMNT to play 7 friendlies before Gold Cup
CARSON, Calif. -- Before the United States participates in the CONCACAF Gold Cup next summer, the national team will have a heavy schedule with seven games from January through June, U.S. Soccer president Sunil Gulati revealed at a media roundtable that was held after MLS Cup at the StubHub Center Sunday night.
The schedule includes five road encounters, including home games against Panama on Feb. 8 and Mexico on April 15. Those venues are yet to be announced.
The Jan. 28 match in Chile and the Feb. 8 home game against Panama will come at the close of the annual January camp, which will be held here.
Jan. 28 -- at Chile
Feb. 8 -- Panama
March 25 -- at Denmark
March 31 -- at Switzerland
April 15 -- Mexico
June 5 -- at Netherlands
June 10 -- at Germany
Although CONCACAF has not announced officially the host of the Gold Cup, it will be in the USA. It will kick off on July 7 and run through July 26.
