ConFed Cup playoff match between USMNT and Mexico moved to Saturday, Oct. 10
MIAMI - The playoff match between the United States and Mexico for a berth in the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup, has been moved to Saturday October 10 at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, CA at 6:00 p.m. PT (9:00 p.m. ET).
The play-in match will determine the nation that will represent the CONCACAF region in the pre-World Cup FIFA tournament, to be played in Russia in 2017.
The game date was initially planned for Friday Oct. 9. The new Saturday date will allow fans in attendance to enjoy a day-long of festivities, including Futbol Fiesta, a free, interactive fan zone outside the Rose Bowl.
The United States won the 2013 Gold Cup, while Mexico won this year's edition. In 2013, CONCACAF announced the split of the region's berth to the Confederations Cup between two editions of the CONCACAF Gold Cup giving each winner a chance to advance to the Confederations Cup.
