U.S. MEN'S NATIONAL TEAM

November 22, 2008
A TOUGH DRAW
U.S. vs. Italy, Brazil in Confederations Cup

Sandton, South Africa -- It could not have been any more difficult for the U.S. at the FIFA Confederations Cup this June.

The U.S. National Team wound up a ridiculous Group B schedule. The Americans will face world champion Italy, South American champion and Egypt at the tournament, which will serve as a warm-up for the 2010 World Cup.

Group A is much later with host South Africa, Asian champion Iraq, Oceania champ New Zealand and European titlist Spain.

The Americans will play Italy in Tshwane/Pretoria on June 15 and Brazil at the same venue three days later.

The U.S. will complete its first round against Egypt in Rustenburg on June 21.
