Howard, Dempsey honored by FIFA
JOHANNESBURG, South Africa -- U.S. players did not walk away empty-handed at the FIFA Confederations Cup.

Goalkeeper Tim Howard was named winner of the Golden Glove Award as the best goalkeeper in the tournament. He finished with 33 saves in four games in net for the U.S., including several spectacular stops in both the 2-0 semifinal upset of Spain and Sunday’s tournament final against Brazil.
Midfielder Clint Dempsey was named winner of the Bronze Ball Award as the third best player. He played all but two minutes of the tournament for the U.S., scoring in each of the team’s final three games, against Egypt, Spain and Brazil.
Brazil forward Luis Fabiano was awarded the Silver Ball and midfield general Kaka was given the Golden Ball.
Fabiano was the leading goal-scorer with five goals and earned the Golden Boot.
