STILL IN THE MIX
Dempsey could play in D.C.

SAN PEDRO SULA, Honduras -- U.S. midfielder Clint Dempsey, who will miss Saturday's World Cup qualifier with a shoulder injury, still might be available for the Costa Rica game in Washington, D.C. Wednesday.

"Clint has made progress this week and we'll address it over the next day or two," U.S. coach Bob Bradley said Friday.

"But he's still clearly an option for us to bring him to D.C."

If the U.S. qualifies Saturday, Demspey, who is still in London, won't play, to allow him to rest and get back onto the field for his English Premier League club Fulham.
