Buddle starts for USA vs. Czechs

EAST HARTFORD, Conn. -- Los Angeles Galaxy forward Edson Buddle, started the U.S.-Czech Republic World Cup warm-up match at Rentschler Field Tuesday night.

Buddle, who was teammed with Eddie Johnson, is trying to secure a spot on the U.S. team that leaves for South Africa on Sunday.

U.S. coach Bob Bradley will name the 23-man roster Wednesday on 1 p.m. on ESPN's SportsCenter.

The lineups:

Defenders -- Jonathan Bornstein, Oguchi Onyewu, Clarence Goodson, Steve Cherundolo
