RUSTENBURG -- Central defender Oguchi Onyewu, who was whistled for the controversial penalty kick in the U.S.'s 2-1 loss to Ghana at the 2006 World Cup, was left out of the lineup for its second-round encounter against the Africans Saturday.

U.S. coach Bob Bradley decided to go with the back four that played in the 1-0 win over Algeria that clinched a spot in the Round of 16.

Robbie Findley is back at forward alongside former Red Bull Jozy Altidore after serving a one-game yellow card suspension.

Ricardo Clark returns at central midfielder with Michael Bradley, his first start since the 1-1 tie with England in the opener here.

The U.S. lineup:

Goalkeeper -- Tim Howard

Defenders -- Jonathan Bornstein, Carlos Bocanegra, Jay DeMerit, Steve Cherundolo

Midfielders -- Landon Donovan, Michael Bradley, Ricardo Clark, Clint Dempsey

Forwards -- Jozy Altidore, Robbie Findley
