Dallas beats Seattle in OT, will host Revs


FC DALLAS 2, SEATTLE SOUNDERS 1

SEATTLE---After a scoreless regulation, FC Dallas scored twice in overtime to defeat the Seattle Sounders 2-1 in the semi-final of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup at Qwest Field Tuesday night.

Carlos Ruiz opened the scoring in the 92nd minute, taking a pass from Alvarez.

Dallas went up 2-0 in the 115th minute on a penalty kick by Abe Thompson

Seattle pulled one back in stoppage time of the second overtime period when Leighton O’Brien beat Dallas goalkeeper Dario Sala.

FC Dallas will host the New England Revolution in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup final Wednesday, Oct. 3 (Dallas, 8 p.m. ET, Pizza Hut Park) in a match that will be televised by Fox Soccer Channel.
