A NEW COACH?
Gulati expected to name new U.S. women's boss in conference call today

U.S. Soccer president Sunil Gulati Friday is expected to name a new coach of the U.S. women's national team to replace Tom Sermanni, who was fired in April.

Gulati will hold a conference call with the media at 2 p.m. ET.

The two finalists are believed to be interim coach Jill Ellis and Swedish native Tony Gustavsson, the coach of UEFA Women's Champions League finalist Tyreso and a former assistant with the U.S. women.

Ellis has been coaching the team on an interim basis since Sermanni was let go on April 6. It is the second time Ellis has taken over the U.S. on an interim basis, also doing so when Pia Sundhage left to return to her native Sweden. Ellis removed herself from consideration for the full-time job before Sermanni was hired.
