To meet U.S. women on Aug. 20

CHICAGO - The U.S. Women's National Team will face Switzerland on Wednesday, Aug. 20, at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, N.C., with kickoff set for 7:30 p.m. ET.

The match will mark the first meeting between the sides at the women's senior level. Switzerland is one of six nations that have already qualified for the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup along with host Canada and Asian qualifiers Australia, China, Japan and Thailand.

Switzerland has won the European Group 3 with one match left to play in qualifying. This is the first time Switzerland has qualified for a Women's World Cup at the senior level. The Swiss are currently ranked 19th in FIFA's world rankings, while the USA is No. 1.
