Ellis to unveil Women's World Cup roster Tuesday
CHICAGO -- Jill Ellis has made up her mind.
She has put together a 23-player roster for the Women's World Cup and the U.S. head coach will share her final decision with the rest of the world on Tuesday.
The roster will be unveiled at 4:55 p.m. ET on Tuesday during America's Pregame on FOX Sports 1, following the UEFA Champions League clash between city rivals Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid.
FOX announcer Rob Stone will be joined by former U.S. Soccer stars Heather Mitts, Alexi Lalas and Eric Wynalda to reveal the roster. They will provide analysis on the players, positions and preparation with the Women's World Cup in Canada just over 50 days away. This special segment on America's Pregame will also include an interview with U.S. head coach Jill Ellis.
Stone hosts the FOX Sports 1 coverage from San Antonio as the network televises five highly anticipated matches. The U.S. Men's National Team takes on archrival Mexico in prime time on April 15 at the Alamodome and top European clubs square off in the UEFA Champions League quarterfinal matches on April 14 and 15. Nearly 10 hours of pregame, halftime and postgame coverage are planned over two days from San Antonio, site of the sold-out USA-Mexico match.
