Solo's reaction about her suspension

When she was told that her contract with the federation had been terminated and she had been suspended for six months by U.S. Soccer, goalkeeper Hope Solo told her husband Jerramy Stevens, "Seventeen f****** years, and it's over!"

She said it for documentary entitled, "Keeping Score."

Stevens is a former NFL player.

Solo was sanctioned for calling Sweden "cowards" after the European team eliminated the United States from the quarterfinals of the Rio Olympics earlier this month.

Solo's suspension and contract termination was a culmination of other high-profile incidents, mostly off the field, involving the veteran keeper over the last few years.

On Thursday she announced she would not play for the Seattle Reign in the National Women's Soccer League for the remainder of the season.
