Rapinoe replaces Heath

CHICAGO – Chicago Red Stars midfielder Megan Rapinoe has been added to the U.S. Women’s National Team roster for the 2010 Algarve Cup, replacing Tobin Heath, who is suffering from an illness.

Rapinoe, who missed the USA’s entire 20-day training camp in California in January due to sickness, has recovered sufficiently to travel to Portugal with the U.S. team, which departs on Thursday for Europe.

The 24-year-old Rapinoe has 11 career caps for the USA and four goals. Last year at the Algarve Cup, she scored the winning goal in a 1-0 victory over Norway that put the USA into the championship game.
