At 38 years old, Boston Breakers forward Kristine Lilly is not only back in the mix for the U.S. national Team, but she is making a case for playing in her sixth World Cup . Lilly scored a goal and set up another with a free kick in the USA’s 4-0 win over Germany on Saturday, earning her the New England Soccer News Player of the Week for the week ending May 24.

Lilly, who was recalled to the National Team earlier this year after more than a one year absence, set up Heather O’Reilly’s goal with a corner kick into the penalty area. Lilly got one of her own in the 63nd minute. After Wambach slotted a ball to her. Lilly’s shot hit the post but caromed in.

For Lilly, who played in her 345th game for the USA, it was her first goal in a U.S. uniform since Oct. 17, 2007, against Mexico and the 130th of her career.
