American Kari Seitz will officiate the Sweden-France third-place match at the Women's World Cup and Marlene Duffy and Veronica Perez will be the assistant referees.

The match will be played in Sinsheim, Germany on Sunday.

Had the United States failed to reach Sunday's final, there was a good chance that Seitz and her American colleagues would work the championship game.

"My dream since I set my sights on becoming a FIFA referee back in 1994 and I couldn't be happier to share the experience with my amazing USA referee crew Veronica & Marlene," Seitz said on her blog.

Seitz, 40, who hails from San Matteo, Calif. runs an advertising agency with offices in San Francisco and Seattle.

She started officiating in 1990 and earned her FIFA Badge in 1999.

This is her fourth Women's World Cup, having worked the 1991, 2003 and 2007 tournaments.
