U.S.-Costa Rica women tickets gone in half hour

Now, that was fast.

The U.S. Women's National Team's first post-Olympic match against Costa Rica on Saturday, Sept. 1, at Sahlen's Stadium in Rochester, N.Y., is sold out.

After selling more than 11,000 tickets during the pre-sale, an additional 1,000 temporary bleacher seats were added in the south end of the stadium and went on sale earlier on Thursday to the public. The additional tickets sold out in 30 minutes to bring the capacity to nearly 13,000.

Fans also have the opportunity to watch hometown striker Abby Wambach and the WNT in action the day before the game during a public training session at 11:30 a.m. ET on Friday, Aug. 31, at Sahlen's Stadium. The free training session allows access to general admission seating to see the team prepare up close. Those who purchase a USSSC Membership can reserve a spot for field-level access. The team's first match since winning the gold medal over Japan at the London Olympics will kick off at 2:30 p.m. ET and will be broadcast live on NBC.

The U.S. has announced two other September matches, both of which will be against Australia. The first match takes place on Sept. 16 at The Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif., with NBC broadcasting the game at 3:30 p.m. ET. The U.S. then heads to Denver for a rematch against Australia at 8 p.m. MT on Sept. 19 at Dick's Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, Colo.

The American women won their third consecutive gold medal and fourth gold medal overall at the London Summer Games. The USA displayed its first 6-0-0 showing at the event, which included a come-from-behind 4-3 extratime victory in the semifinals against Canada on Aug. 6 and Carli Lloyd's two-goal performance to lead the U.S. to a 2-1 win against 2011 Women's World Cup champion Japan in the gold medal match at Wembley Stadium on Aug. 9.
