U.S. U-20s advance in CONCACAF tournament

TIBAS, Costa Rica -- The U.S. advanced in the CONCACAF U-20 Championship with a 4-1 win over St. Kitts and Nevis Friday, setting up a Monday match with Mexico.

Sebastian Saucedo scored twice as the U.S. took a 4-0 halftime lead. Brooks Lennon converted his team-leading fourth goal of the tournament in the 16th minute, stabbing home a Jeremy Ebobisse cross. Jonathan Lewis extended the lead four minutes later when he finished at the back post.

Saucedo scored in the 35th minute, converting a long-range strike after Lewis forced a turnover, in the 41st minute, curling a free kick from 25 yards.

In the 77th minute, Romario Martin seized an errant back-pass and evaded JT Marcinkowski, making his first appearance of the tournament, to score into an empty net.

The result was never in doubt as the U.S. dominated possession and produced several chances.

The U.S. (2-1-0, 6 points) finished second to Panama (3-0-0, 9 points) in Group B.
